Our Day Center provides sandwiches to our guests each day we are open.
We have been very busy and out supply of sandwiches often runs very low.

St. Columba is having our annual School Supplies Program the first week of school
and we need your donations! Please help us by providing the following items:
paper, notebooks, 3-prong folders, pens, markers, graph paper, pencils,
composition notebooks, colored pencils, highlighters, binders, compasses,
and protractors. Please note we have enough crayons, glue, and rulers.
Donations must be received by Thursday, September 3, 2009.
We are also looking for volunteers to help with distribution the first week of school.

Our Food Pantry is still LOW!!
St. Columba has continued to have extremely high numbers of food referrals
each month, sometimes over 150! We usually have 90 referrals each
month. As such, we continuously need to restock many of the staples we
give out in food requests and need your help! Please help us restock with
things like cereal, tuna, macaroni and cheese, soups, canned fruit and
vegetables, canned meats, pasta, dried potatoes, rice, pasta, spaghetti
sauce, ravioli, beans, jello, peanut butter and jelly!
Donations can be dropped off at St. Columba during normal business hours
(Monday - Friday, 8 am to 4 pm). Thank you for your support as we
eliminate hunger in our community!
St. Columba is always looking for individuals who are interested in serving
as board members. The Board of Directors provides oversight for fulfilling
the mission of St. Columba. Membership is perfect for people who are
busy during the day, but still want to get involved. We meet one night a
month and have an annual fundraiser. If you are interested in learning more

To operate an ecumenical ministry in
response to the Biblical Mandate to
minister to persons in need, whether
these needs are economic, social or
spiritual. The ministry is a direct,
hands on ministry recognizing the
integrity of individuals and working
with them where they are. The
ministry is indirect, working with
churches and other organizations to
establish activities that address
people’s needs.
With a Presbyterian heritage, in 1975 St. Columba Ministries began a
social justice ministries to the low/poverty level income residents of Robin
Hood Apartment complex. In 1986, St. Columba Ecumenical Ministries
became an ecumenical corporation reaching out the to poor and
dispossessed in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
